Break Fix (Traditional Consultant) vs. Managed Service Provider (MSP)

One of the major things that sets NoteworthyIT apart from a traditional break fix computer consultant is that someone providing Break Fix services only makes a profit when technology breaks down while we only make a profit when things don’t break! We have a vested interest in keeping your network up and running. We become more integrated with your company. Our success is now based on your success and not your failures.

What is a Managed Service Provider?

A Managed Service Provider (MSP) is anyone who provides operations or management support for a network infrastructure at a predetermined recurring monthly fee. Managed services can be provided for networks, security, databases, servers, storage and applications. What is covered must be specifically spelled out in a written agreement called a Managed Services Agreement (MSA) and it is between the client and service provider. This helps avoid confusion of what is covered and what is not. When work is preformed that is not covered by the MSA, it is considered “out-of-scope” and billed out at a separate standard hourly rate.
